Cynthia Ann Crawford was born February 20, 1966. She is an American actress, model and television host. In the 1980s and 90s she was a supermodel of renown who was prominent in magazines and runways and also in fashion-related campaigns. Then, she branched out into acting and business ventures. In her sophomore year in high school, she was contacted by a call from a local clothing store for modeling jobs which she later discovered was a joke by two students. Crawford was one of the high school girls recruited by a different store, and also participated in a fashion shoot. Roger Legel, a local photographer, approached Crawford to shoot her. He was responsible for the photo shoot of another college student for DeKalb Nite Weekly. Crawford was selected as the first photo shoot. [9] She was encouraged to continue modeling based on the positive comments and pictures she received. She began with a small agency. Elite Model Management bought it soon after she signed. At the age of 17, she entered Elite's Look of the Year contest and reached the national finals.
